Elite Sports Builders is honored to announce that we’ve been awarded the 2018 Track and Field Facility - Silver Award by the American Sports Builders Association, as well as the Distinguished Track and Field Facility for the construction of Saguaro High School Stadium in participation with FieldTurf, SportsEdge, Gill Athletics, and Stockmeier Urethanes, USA Inc.
The ASBA recognizes premier facilities built by its competitive pool of skilled certified builders on an annual basis. These prestigious awards span a variety of categories including everything from indoor facilities and track and field stadiums to residential facilities as well as tennis court construction, and more. Projects are scored individually based on layout and design, site work, drainage, base construction, surface, amenities, innovation, and overall impression. Organizations who rise to the top of the cumulative scoreboard are then ranked among the best in the world.
As profiled in Arizona Contractor & Community Magazine earlier this year, Elite worked diligently to renovate stadium facilities at Chaparral High School, Coronado High School, and Saguaro High School between June (2017) and January (2018). Despite the eight-month timeline, it’s no surprise this project has been described as a “sprint to the finish line”. Elite Sports Builders and its partners were given only 100 days to achieve substantial completion, a schedule that initially left out the track surfacing which “was done over winter break with only 40 days to complete” and faced significant environmental obstacles.
